The AI fan’s answer is, any day now!

Any day now!

But the real answer is, never. Because those are not the goals of AI. That’s not the end game.

In the real end game of AI, you will not be a collaborator. You will be a consumer and nothing more.

You’re not using AI, you’re training it. Then you’re refining the outputs. Then you’re showing the outputs to other people. But in the end game of AI no training and refinement is needed. You are not needed. AI can instantly create and show the outputs straight to the audience, based on their preferences.

The end game of AI is not you using AI to make movies. The end game is instantly generated movies featuring the viewer’s favourite actors in whatever scenarios they prefer.

The end game of AI is not you using AI to write your LinkedIn posts. The end game is everyone reading instantly generated posts tailored to their politics and prejudices.

The end game of AI is not you using AI to do your work. The end game is your clients doing whatever they used to pay for you to do, using instantly generated spreadsheets, plans, designs and ideas.

Your role in the end game is not collaboration, prompt writing or training. Your only role is the consumer of instantly generated slop.

Show up. Consume. Repeat. Die.
